We received our quarterly newsletter today from the homeowners association filled with lots of great tips on recycling. One of them I am going to chose to ignore.....
"Participate in a pain collection and reuse program."
Sorry, but I am not going to be participating in this program. Now, if someone would like to collect my pain, I will gladly allow them to take and reuse as much as they would like.

Adam Lambert
I am an American Idol fan and have faithfully watched every season. Each year there is one contestant that the judges really like and I just don't understand why. This year that contestant is Adam Lambert. I admit he does have a good voice and he is original, but I am not a fan. Some of the changes he has made to the songs are just too much of a change for me. I think he would be really good in theater, but I don't see him as a recording artist.
My favorites are Allison and Danny.
Who is your favorite American Idol contestant left?

Stay in Bed
Ever have those day when you wish you could just stay in bed or at least stay in your pajamas? Today is one of those days for me. There was no particular reason, I was just so comfortable and didn't want to get up. Then I thought, maybe I can work from home today - then I could at least stay in my pajamas. Nope, that won't work either. I have goal meetings with 3 of my team members. Darn. So, I made myself get up and let the doggies out to potty.

Twang Beer Salt
Have you ever heard of Twang Beer Salt? I personally am not a fan, but hubby loves the stuff. He buys 2 of the lemon lime ones every couple of weeks and eats it straight - never with his beer. Well, now my dog is hooked on the stuff. Any time Riley sees hubby pick up the container, she comes running over wanting some. She will eat as much as you will give her and keep coming back for more. The other dog, Abbie, smells it and backs away. It is too tart for her.
Do any of your pets have crazy food habits?

Possessed Microwave
Our microwave has been randomly giving us a message to "call for service," so about 2 weeks ago I called and had the service folks come out. The repair man was really nice and quickly said it was a loose wire in the control panel. He fixed the wire and was on his way. The microwave worked perfectly for about 5 days and then mysteriously started telling us to "call for service" again. A different person from the same company came out today to look at the microwave. Of course, it is like a car that needs service, it never acts up in front of the repair person. He couldn't make it recreate the error. He checked and tightened everything, put it all back together and tested it about 6 or 7 times. On test number 8, it decided it would only work for 3 seconds and then shut down. It did this several times in a row and then went back to working perfectly.
The repair man turned to me and asked if we have noticed any paranormal activity in our house or if it was built on some kind of sacred burial ground. Since the answer to both of those questions was no, he then determined our microwave must be possessed.
He decided to order a whole new control panel and that should take care of our crazy microwave. The microwave still works in the meantime, you just have to open and close the door from time to time to clear the message.

More Fun in the Yard
This afternoon was really productive. I can home and finished planting the rest of the ground cover around the trees and in the small flower bed. Now I have Irish Moss, Liriope, and Fiery Dianthus as the ground cover. Thanks to Katreader who helped me to identify my flowers as Daylily. We are almost done with the front yard. We just need to put down the edging, put dillo dirt in all of the beds, and put down the red rubber mulch.
After finishing the planting, we went to the back yard and checked on my sweet peppers and cayenne peppers. The cayenne are not doing very well, but the sweet peppers are coming up nicely. After that we enjoy a game of fetch and chase with the dogs. Everyone is worn out and we are working on making a quick supper so we can kick back and watch American Idol.

Marigolds?
These flowers are in my front flower bed and I am not sure what they are; marigolds perhaps? They have a really pretty yellow flower and the blooms only last a day or two. Since we didn't put them in, I drove around our neighborhood to see how many other houses had flowers like these and no one has them. That actually makes me a little happy because I really don't like it when all of the houses look the same; unfortunately, I can't ask anyone what they are.
Do one of you know what kind of flower this is?

I'm Back
I've have been taking a break from blogging, but now I'm back. I took some time to get things in our new house organized and in place and now I am back and ready to go. Here is a quick update since the last time I wrote.
My Mom's phone call was not an April Fool's joke. In fact, she is set to have 4 litters of puppies in May and June (2 Yorkie litters, 1 blue lacy litter, and 1 coyote litter). My Mom was planning to take the summer off and relax; so much for her relaxing!
We have the house mostly organized and settled in, we just need to finish hanging pictures and get a bed for the guest room.
We spend a lot of time outside. The dogs love their backyard and we play fetch every afternoon. I have almost all of the flowers planted in the front. I still need to plant the Irish Moss (I couldn't resist, it was Irish). The flowers in the flower beds are blooming and look beautiful; although I have no idea what they are. The were planted by the builder. I will post a picture later this week and maybe some of you will know what they are called.
Work is going great. My team is getting great reviews and accolades. We have been able to surpass the expectations of our Regional VP. Now that he can see what we are capable of, he has given me pretty much and open door to take on whatever new functions we want. My territory has already expanded to include all of Texas and part of New York, so we are really doing well. Unfortunately, with the stinky economy, we haven't been able to increase the pay for any of us to show how well we are doing. They have agree to look at the during the second 1/2 of the year.
Oh, and I applied to start Grad school again in the fall. I am waiting to get my official confirmation that I can register for classes.
That pretty much sums up what I have been up to for the last couple of weeks. I look forward to reading all of your blogs to see what you have been doing.

April Fool's Joke???
I got a call tonight from my mother that started off "I just wanted to tell you that your father has officially gone crazy." She then proceeded to tell me they were going in to the dog business. They have apparently purchased all of the dogs and equipment from a lady near them who breeds Yorkie's. They purchased 8 dogs along with all of the kennel's and equipment. Wow - that was a lot to absorb. That means their animal count now stands at, you better sit down for this..... 15 dogs (some inside, some outside), 2 coyotes, 2 cats, and 2 really obnoxious parrots. My parent house has officially turned in to a zoo.
Part of me is thinking they will call tomorrow and tell me it was an April Fool's joke, but part of me knows this is not a joke.
